After four years it became clear that a
decision between quartet playing and conducting was
necessary, and so with many regrets, plus many happy
memories of finally having had a chance to play some of the
greatest repertoire, I quit the Gabrieli.
But that wasn't the end of the chamber music dream,
and to the right is a photo of the London String Trio,
formed in 1991 with colleagues
